How does a renter or owner cancel a rental order? What are the cancellation fees?
We discourage both renters and owners from cancelling rentals. But we understand that shoot plans change, and if you are a renter you are can cancel before the start date. If you need to cancel a rental navigate to the rental conversation on the KitSplit site and click "Cancel Request".
Our cancellation policy is as follows:
For renters:
If a renter cancels more than 24 hours prior to reservation, there is a full refund except for fees & insurance.
If a renter cancels less than 24 hours ahead of the rental period, they will be charged 50% of the rental fee.
If a renter cancels during the rental period, there is no refund.
Note: KitSplit fees, short-term insurance and damage waivers are always non-refundable when a rental is canceled.
For owners:
We highly discourage owners from cancelling—you should never accept a rental unless you are certain you can fulfill it. However, if you are an owner and need to cancel because of an unforeseen event, email us at contact@kitsplit.com. Whenever you cancel a rental, you’ll get an automated review on your profile saying that you cancelled. After the first time you cancel, there will be a $50 penalty fee per cancellation. Any applicable cancellation fees are automatically deducted from your next rental payout.
